Fix Broadcom BCM4311 wireless Driver on LinuxMint and Ubuntu Easily


Today in this post, I’ll tell you how to fix your Broadcom BCM4311 wireless Driver on LinuxMint and Ubuntu. You can easily connect your Broadcom to your system by fixing the issues in the network interface card (NIC). Just simply execute the following command.

 

TAKE AWAY THE DEFAULT DRIVER:

At first let us remove the default driver and install Linux driver.

$ sudo apt-get remove --purge bcmwl-kernel-source

The above command removes the default driver.

INSTALL THE LINUX NON-FREE FIRMWARE DRIVER:

Linux non-free firmware driver contains binary firmware for various drivers in linux. It is a collection of firmware blobs.

Type the following command.

$ sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree

LOADING THE B43 MODULE:

After the installation of Linux Non-free driver. We can load the b43 module which is our destination.

$ sudo modprobe b43

AUTOMATIC ACTION OF B43:

To make the b43 to work automatically type the following command.

$ sudo su

# echo “b43” >> /etc/modules
